Handmade Teardrop Bird Feeder
Fired to over 1200C and durable enough to withstand harsh weather in the garden.
We have made the original mould ourselves and cast the mould with liquid stoneware slip. A strong metal hook is embedded into the clay early on in the casting process and fired into the piece for the utmost stability. After it has been fired we paint it with a combination of glazes and fire again to 1220C. This high temperature vitrifies and strengthens the clay and creates beautiful, unpredictable and unique glaze finishes, no one will be the same.
Measures 25cm in height and 13cm in width.
Small hole has a 5cm diameter opening.
Large hole has a 8cm diameter opening.
We have put 3 holes in the bottom to drain out any rain water that may find its way inside.
.. and YES, they do work.. we have tested ourselves and little birds, robins, blue tits, etc love them!
